The 12th of March was the second day of the 32nd SEASON OF MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK RUSSIA
JUNONA FASHION HOUS opened the second day of MBFW Russia featuring kids’ outfit from the Bulgarian designer Petya Delcheva. The collection embraces several themes at the same time: Comtesse Sophie, Ballet Dream, Rose Queen, Winter Roses, Poppy for all ages of girls and The King´s Play for boys and teenagers. ‘Every kid is a performer!’ states JUNONA standing for disclosure of creative individuality. Soft cherry, creamy, red and black dresses with appliqués of textile flowers complemented by classical portraits of upper-class girls. Puff veil skirts are performed in various techniques and silhouettes. Nobility and royal character are highlighted by unusual collars: upstanding, ‘Bertha’ and fantasy collars.
Kids’ collection Bonvivan by VERONICA KANASHEVICH is delicate luxury, femininity and style for the youngest and grown-up fashionistas. ‘Gravity-free’ fabrics render the lightness and fairy-tale airiness, while rich and fancy embellishment, decoration stones, beads and embroidery add to the outfit the mature idea. Puff skirts and A-silhouettes, garnish colours and gorgeous combinations — everything is performed without affectation of style but with a taste.
Collection Mukha-Tsokotukha (fly character from a kids’ story) by designer Vadim Merlis featured abundance of ruffles on skirts and dress hems along with an eye-catching check. Playful ribbons as finishing elements, tiny floral prints, knee-highs and wrap dresses interchanged with the male suits slightly reminding of pyjamas and female midi. Subdued colour range of the collection and flexibility of designs make the outfits suitable for mundane life as well as for formal receptions.
In highly original collection from Tako Mekvabidze office apparel is mixed with relaxed pyjama costumes, floating fabrics with strong textures, moderate colours with deep ones. Silhouette of the garments is strongly emphasized at times like in the set with the malachite green high-waist pants, or on the contrary is hardly distinguished behind the multiple layers of outfit. Semi-transparent garments at the same time hide and demonstrate beauty of the body giving way to fantasy.
DIMANEU in his new collection Gaudeamus celebrates the cold and magnificent beauty of his home Siberia clashing its chaotic and uncompromising features with Gothic strictness. Borders of cold and warm are reflected in the colour range: garments in the colour of frozen ground, night sky, contrast light-pink and faces of the models in the colour of snowy space. Designer is loyal to his signature style — he continues to transform and stretch the silhouettes, to use asymmetry, brand’s print, neat lines and to enclose the tops of the icon dresses into corsets. In this collection Dima employs necklaces, cuffs and tiaras in the shape of sharp crystals from the artist Alek Raos. Traditionally the show was staged as a performance.
Collection Aka Nanita was inspired by antique jewellery and beauty of Georgian women. Loose dresses in grey-beige shades with sheer collars interchanged with the playful midi dresses with basque, Pinot Noir coats and challenging transparent fabrics. Every item in the collection celebrates luxury in its entire greatness whether it is the tempting silver finishing on velvet dresses, scattered beads or expensive lace.
Principal headliner of the Fashion Week SLAVA ZAITSEV rocked the catwalk and delighted the audience with the golden gift — luxury captured the runway: boyar’s caftans, morocco leather suits, remarkable dresses. Collection Golden Age is all about textured fabrics richly decorated with embroidery, sequin and fur. Among others it features the mermaid dress as if made of fluid gold, romantic Gothic of the evening gowns, outfits with Pavloposadsky themes and paradise flowers; the collection is full of historic associations and compositional perfection.
The next on the runway was Julia Dalakian with her collection SOFT BUT SURE. Classic silhouette, formal black suits blended with composed maroon accent, light gauze and glinting metal — urban chic takes possession of fashion and acquires the intellectual frame. Loose pants go along with the skirts with long fringe tassels, chocolate leather and neat cellular patterns. Soft but Sure is the exact definition of the collection.
Collection from the new-comers SORRY, I’M NOT is built around the character of Siren-girl who steels the hearts and does not regret anything. The bright array of colours goes from acid yellow to rainbow-pink and glossy black. Soft silk dresses with ruffles-tentacles are painted in colour swatch, girlish baby-dolls are opposed by the black lipstick, men follow their sweethearts in fur and capron suits. Every outfit is filled with irony and provocative attitude, mixture of fabrics and garnish colours will be appreciated by confident and uncompromising fellows.
Special corner hosted the presentation from the fashion brand Léka from New York. Dresses from Léka are eclectic and bold as the Big Apple but at the same time are comfortable and giving confidences to their owners.
